Long ago in the days of enchantment and song
There lived a young maid who worked all day long
On her way home she paused for a drink from the river
A voice so deep said "Please help me" made her quiver

Tell me what is wrong goldfish I am but a humble maid
"The wicked witch turned me into a fish" for over a decade
I am twenty one tomorrow please take me from this bond
The castle and lands are mine, oh free me from this pond

The fairies saw what the witch had done and felt sorry for me
They couldn't break the spell so whispered magic rose for free
"Remember though flee from the bee" upon picking the red rose
Before midnight tonight in the dark, just follow the garden hose

Swiftly at midnight she found her way to the large rose tree
Plucked a beautiful rose on which sat the biggest queen bee
Panting now she managed to throw the rose in to the water
As two guards seized her she thought she was for the slaughter

There in front of her stood the prince, the blood rose in his hand
Thank you enchanting maid I will take you to my promised land
To the white castle they walked as the draw bridge came down
Marry me beautiful maid he asked as the fairies fluttered around

Love
