Array ( [sid] => 29517 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW [time] => 2003-12-16 17:10:10 [hometext] => Which steps do you follow, and how do you get out of the gate? [bodytext] => A newborn gasps for breath....
Freshly fallen snow,
unblemished canvas.
Questioning for a litetime.....
Which steps sublime?

Numerous, easy to follow
Or those hard to find?
Tread deep ones, or shallow,
untouched and fallow?

Free or borrow?
Joyful or sorrow?
Track with care?
Wealthy, or welfare?

Over by the fence,
cramped and narrow.
Daring, with bravado.
Courageous, noble,
Truthful, and cruel.

Stubble, then stumble,
Maintain balance, tumble.
Straight, hard to track.
With heavy backpack.

Hope is the gate....
Accept, no berate.
Faith, with endruance.
Tenacity midst interference.

Footseps in the snow
cramped and narrow
Simple eye with blinders
Concentrate, irresponsible
not welcome.
Few succeed,
many succumb.

Squeeze through the gate,
Fortitude, no stalemates
Free to pass, tickets,
life's hard crevasse,
Your choice,
Unfailing love,
surpass.

Follow the footsteps in the snow.
Those gently left....and kindly so....
Be His Shadow.

I am seconding the first comment. I could have not summed it up any better. It's just amazing sometimes what the mind can see while reading what another writes...

Insanely good poem. I'm thoroughly impressed with the visuals this left in my head. I could close my eyes and follow the trail...

Truly,

There is a time when you can follow. Don't leave it too late lest the snow melts.

You have an unfaillingly beautiful imagination.
