Array ( [sid] => 29440 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Bitter Victory II [time] => 2003-12-15 14:19:44 [hometext] => The unrequited love of a hypocrite trying to give in. Trying to hide love. But in the end, it kills her spirit and the spirit of her love... ...this is quite complicated. I can't explain this poem in such few words...... [bodytext] => Awoken by shame beaming into my room
Forsaken am I---
---Attempting to hide my sombre hue
Dreaming of silence in the dead of night
Tasting the bitter-sweetness of defeat
Glaring at the shrewdness of victory
I have lost this war
Fought in vain
Peace has become my pain

Defeated by the one whom I love
Affrays heap themselves onto my soul
I am in constant reproach
Our souls fight each other in ecstasy!
Victory was at hand ---
---T'was my destiny
Our soul is our sword
Our emotions; its sheath
Yet the gleam of thy sword caught my eye
Frail and unkempt from lingering toil
'Tis too late to renown this twisted dream
I must keep on fighting!
I musn't flee!
I am losing this battle
Yet winning this war...

This war is endless---
---Without cause! In vain!
"Twill not avail you or I
A false hope inquires the tide
---Until my love is defeated
This war is nigh
Your lips; white as a frozen sea
Of tears glimmering in a warped fantasy
From all of the years love has worn a mask
I cannot witness you die!
If you taste death---
---So shall I!

Goodbye, my dear love!
Goodbye to the pain!
Goodbye to the toil!
Goodbye to the shame!

This war was in vain

Defeated by the one whom I love...
We have both won this battle
Yet we have both lost this war...
Tasting the bitter-sweetness of victory
Defeated by the one whom I love...
Wallowing as my heart sinks into its own blood
