It was raining way too bad.
But I started to listen,
While the panes seemed to glisten,
And the singing rain made me so glad.

The tune went pitter patter.
And as it also splattered,
It almost lulled me to sleep.
But I had to watch for puddles,
Near the front door I cuddled,
As the water was getting quite deep.

Once in a blue moon ,
I sit alone in my room,
But have a fear of being alone.
But as long as there’s your picture,
I’ll talk to you but will not lecture,
Then here in my heart you’re at home.

So I’ll hear the pitter patter,
Keeping time with the wet splatter,
And think of how you love to love in the rain.
Reminding me of mountain air,
A fresh breeze blowing your hair.
Without you I’ll never go anywhere!

If I had to do it all over,
Relive my days as a rover,
There’s no place that I’d rather be,
Than to be close by your side,
And into the sunset we could ride,
Sharing love into eternity!
