to drain the damage from my past?

Could this be the right one?
when the damage is almost done.

I have prayed every night for this bliss,
my lips caressed by a new lovers lips.

With the hurt I feel inside,
I am glad to have this stranger by my side.

My heart has been trampled into the ground,
the rest of me was likely darkness bound.

Then my savior comes to me,
with promises of happiness to be.

Shall I trust this ones master plan?
when my last down fall came from a man.

Should I take the cure with eyes wide?
or close them tight and chance the tide?

I will take the cure and hope for the best
presuming that he is better than the rest. Third stanza is my absolute favorite. It just sings! Beautiful words my friend, beautiful words. One thing that caught me off guard was when you starting talking about salvation coming from this new love.... I got confused.... see, I'm a Christian, so my mind automatically jumped to Jesus.... bad habit ....when reading anything that says the word salvation, I'll just think about Jesus instead of what I'm meant to be thinking about...... But that's just me...... ; )

This was a lovely write (aside from my self-imposed confusion...lol)

You did excellent work....

God bless,
Ellen

Hehe Jelly. It was the comment by you before the poem that got me interested. The whole thing was just great though.
