I stand still in sin
As the water rises to my chin
I struggle to take a sip
But it stays just below my lips

Bitten by the asp
Antidote just beyond my grasp
Just a taste
An insatiable appetite it would create

A castaway on a raft in the sea
I die from thirst with water all around me

What I want cannot be
It's irony
What I want you cannot see
Please remember me
For what I could never be

Just a taste it's real
A taste of my lips wrapped around the steel
Another walk through fire
Of this chase I begin to tire

Like the cherished toy of a child thrown aside
When something new came along for the ride

A castaway on a raft in the sea
I die from thirst with water all around me

What I want cannot be
It's irony
What I want you cannot see
Please remember me
For what I could never be

BRAVO1 BRAVO! VS
You will reach everyone with this one VS
For we are all cast upon a Sea of No rest!
Some will continue to swim, but most will
sink from the wind.
But with this poem, I shall never remember you as what you might have been.
You are right now surrounded by sin....
Keep your integrity and don't give in!
Warm hugs VS and I'm throwing you a life boat, please get in, and join the rest of us that avoided the sea of sin!
Excellent Poem...comes from within!
Lovingcritters
ConSue

Such hopelessness. Truly amazing, VS.

Keep writing (or... run out of creativity.)

this is beautiful! I die from thirst with water all around me
what I want cannot be its irony
What I want you cannot see
Please remember me for what I could never be.
That part really gets to me.
