In the pieces lay my life
reflections of what couldn’t be
each memory now a knife
There is no put together
no way to fix the strife
Shattered is my mirror, shattered is my life

In one piece my grandpa
Only memories left to hold
Shattered pieces on the ground
Mirrors don’t grow old
Memories now reflected
In colors way too bold
Shattered is my mirror, no grandpa left to hold

Another piece my brother
I never could quite touch
grabbing in me dreams
was never quite enough
The pieces I grabbed onto
left only a cut
Shattered is my mirror, no brother left to touch

No glue can fix the pain
believe me I have tried
The feeling of total loss
pain from untold lies
tombstone left in place
reflecting no prize
Shattered is my mirror when I no longer try
