But you see through her lies
She's nothing like a normal girl
You see it in her eyes

You see the boiled passion and the effervescent dreams;
You see a world of unknown colors, you see her emerald gleam.
You're dazzled by the silver lights, you're captured by her dreams.

The rest will say her eyes are brown but looks aren't what they seem;
Her eyes are not some dreary tan--they're bright vivacious greens.
She's neither white nor black nor grey--she's something inbetween.

The world may think her odd or queer
She thinks them all a bore
But when you star upon her eyes
You love her all the more

You know she's not your average girl, you feel her fervent heat
She lives a life that's all her own, she dances with her feet;
She waltzes with her shadow to a song without a beat

She speaks a language no one knows and sings her unheard tunes;
Her smile shines like the golden sun and glimmers like the moon;
She's brighter than the summer day just seconds before noon.

And yet she claims she's nobody
She's common place and rife
But just by looking in her eyes
You've known her all your life

She splashes paintings in the air with colors of the wind;
Her thoughts are unpredictable--she lives upon a whim
And when you ask her what she means, all she does is grin.

She claims that life's a joyous game, rehearsing all her lines;
She acts to life's untitled play and giggles all the time;
Sometimes you wonder if she's right--"the best things are inside."

And yet she says she's nothing new
Her thoughts were all before
But gazing at those emerald eyes
You love her all the more. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 309 [topic] => 2 [informant] => eternityslyre [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 18 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

This is an awesome write ... you have great talent ... I love the idea behind the poem, as well as how you set the verses out - could almost be a song ... Jan

And forgot it for ever more.

Lol. I got the crap from the star part which was supposed to be stare. This was phenomenal. I love people like this. It had a sensual side to it for me. I followed it perfectly man. The way you ran with the lines was amazing.
