Array ( [sid] => 28215 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Daddy, I'm Letting Go [time] => 2003-11-29 14:45:18 [hometext] => I wrote this poem to help me let go of my dad. He died when I was 2 so I didn't really get to know him. [bodytext] => Why did he have to go?
I guess it was his time.
I really don't know.
I guess he was just next in line.
I wish I had gotten to know him
He sounded like a great guy
After he left, my life did sort of dim
About that I can't lie.
I was only two when he passed.
So I really don't remember
But my love for him will always last
Like a long winter night in December.
When I awake each morning
The rays of his smile shine down on me.
It's sort of like a warning
Saying my day is gonna be like a fantasy.
I never really learned how to let go of my dad
Until the other day.
Because letting go is so very sad
But I'm torturing him by making him stay.
I said "Daddy, this is hard for me
I have to let you know.
Please Daddy, forgive me,
But I have to let you go." [comments] => 3 [counter] => 253 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Breezer08 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
