Little did I know you'd last much longer than he.
A sweet baby bunny full of vigor and sprite,
Running and jumping with all of your might.

You were feisty and spirited, a joy to behold,
You were the craziest of the bunch so I was told.
Tan-colored and lop-eared, with my friends you were a smash,
With all that personality, I instantly named you "Flash."

Times got hard when I had to move around,
But you still loved me and never made a sound!
To my best friend's house you went for a while.
You made her and her family laugh and smile.

Time passed on and you were returned to me,
This time you moved to your home under a tree.
Mom took good care of you while I was living away,
But eventually I came back and was ready to play.

You ran through the yard quick as could be,
Even faster than Maggie, Scooter and Murphy!
Try as they did, they could not keep up,
But still licked your face like you were their pup.

A long life you led as a quiet sweet soul,
In my heart you will always have a role.
I see you jumping through clouds in Heaven far away,

For my 21st Birthday, an old love gave you to me,
Little did I know you'd last much longer than he.

This was excellent, i cried as i read it
i had a hamster that i loved dearly and when she died i cried i know that feeling so many people dont know how speical animals can be . my hamster would sit with me and she would come when i called her i miss her so much her name was hamagus that is what i called her . she died in my hands i held her as she took her last breathe it was heart breaking. thank you for sharing the memory of flash . i loved this poem great job

This was a marvelous poem.....I can't imagine you writing it though....I mean it took real courage to share this with us, and I'm so glad you did, for your bunny will now be in our memories too!
How you loved Flash....I can tell from your write....and its so consoling to know that he was loved and treated just right.
I'm so sorry for your loss....I loved animals no matter the cost....
