Array ( [sid] => 27934 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Seamus [time] => 2003-11-25 15:21:14 [hometext] => My parents got a dog five months before their only child was born. The child and the dog loved each other with a love that was more than love. In summer, eight years and eleven months after the child was born, the dog died. His name was Seamus. [bodytext] => I see you from the corner of my eye.
Sitting there and wagging your tail.
A barrier comes between the tears and my cheeks.
They say you are gone but they are wrong.
You stay with me.
You guard me against crying in school.
I need that and you know it.
You would nuzzle me, lick my hand.
I would feel it in my body and my soul.
My clothes never moved at your touch.
Your body was givin to the flames.
The urn in a bookcase.
Your soul lives with me.

I see you less.
I think I need you less.
I still love you.
You are my first love.
I wish I could have been there for you.
I hate that vacation.

That call we got.

Telling me the lie that you were gone.

It has been four years and a few months since those words were pounded out and seen with blurred eyes.

I saw him less and less.

My love did not diminish.

A year and a half ago,

The parents got another german shepard.

Frodo.

My friends wonder why I dislike him.

I am always glaring and putting him down.

I have reason.

My Seamus is gone.

He no longer comes to see me.

I thnk of him and my mind shows me Frodo.

I still love my dog, but he has not come to me.

Not for a year.

And a half, to be exact.

I put on a face for mom.

She gets angry when I act like my feelings for Frodo are less than adoration.

I must go.

I can't see the screen. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 240 [topic] => 29 [informant] => sindi-selde [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => PetPoems )
