Feeling for...
It.

I can't seem to touch
The object of my own desire...
To grasp the things that I
Want to hold so close.

The further I reach,
The further I must reach,
Straining for the chance
To see what I am missing.

The void I strive to fill
Remains, a parasite inside me,
Glorifying my ignorance
And existing solely in it.

Thus, I sit and wait.
Wait for the coming,
The coming of the storm,
Or of the calm. I wait... and I search.

I can't seem to touch
Emotions that are my own.
Disconnected from myself,
I must reign my thoughts.

Eyes closed, I grope in the darkness
Hoping to find the last vestiges
Of a world that I used to know,
Without seeing even a glimmer of hope.

And the darkness takes over,
Devouring my mind and soul,
Invading and destroying my thoughts,
And I'm left with only myself.

In this forced peace is my goal.
It has come to me.
It has come from me.
Nirvana.

In my achievement,
I forfeit the world.

The cost of peace.

Opening my eyes
To a vast realm of nothing.
A sigh of pleasure interlaced
With sadness.

It has come to me.
It has come from me.
