We thank you Lord for mountains, vales and hills,
For beaches, rivers, red-woods, whispering rills,
We thank you Lord for turning to our best
Deep sorrow and so many a painful test

For many gifts we thank,- your graciousness
Bestows upon us and is pleased to bless.-.
We thank you for the treasured Sacred Find
And for our plucky city’s state of mind.

We thank you for heroic agencies,
For fire fighters, MD and police,
For surgeons and for nurses' constancy
That sooth burnt flesh and victims’ agony

Thanks for our soldiers all that bravely fight
Against dark terror and the serpent‘s blight
To bring foul terror masters to their knee
And bring about the end of tyranny.

We thank you for our soldiers‘ splendid skills,
For Army Rangers and for Navy Seals-
For Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Cadet
And for their pledge that they will not forget.

Thanks Lord for steely will and firm resolve,
Their steadfastness that brooks the deepest gulf,
We trust Oh Lord you graciously will bless
Their focus and their single mindedness.

We thank you Lord for their strong fellowship
And tender parting words upon their lip:
“I love you honey! - look after the kids,-
And do look in on dad should he have needs

We thank for cryptic values, kept in store,
Their waking up and rushing to the fore,-
For Afghan women, reclaimed, who now see
And feel the wind and air caressingly

We thank you Lord for peoples’ generous heart,
And for the Psalm “Oh Lord how great Thou art!”
All things are changed for us, yet we are blest
For sorrow did bring out of us the best.

E Pluribus Unum - Lord! now we stand
In lockstep, side-by-side and hand-in-hand,
Amazing Grace! let’s ring throughout the land,
Give thanks to God forever without end.
Amen!
