Array ( [sid] => 27632 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => RUN FOR YOU LIVES! [time] => 2003-11-22 06:32:29 [hometext] => Have you ever been in a Cave-In when the earth is disappearing beneath your feet? Then the floods come rushing, what do you do then? [bodytext] => "There's a "Cave-In" down below!
The call is official, we must go!
As I drag one of my legs, others suffice.
The earth is tumbling, we must
tumble with it, in order to save our lives!

Call to the workers, tell the Queen.
We are trapped, and must keep everything clean!
The babies are hungry, and their
beds need trashed out.......Hurry, Hurry Hurry,
Put the S.O.S call out!
The community must gather, all 10,000
perhaps even more.
Carrying more than twice their weight
gather the dirt, whisking it to rooms to store!
I know it is dark, for I too cannot see.....
Get your "wits" about you now,
and feel your way free!"

"Get word to the Soldiers above,
Larger, than workers like you and me.
Someone has deliberately staged
this "Cave-in" over by the Pine tree.
Beware, you workers, for water might
come rushing in next."

"Here comes the water I can hear it!
we only have 30 seconds to mobilize our outfit!
Run quickly and get the Queen., and her brood.
Gather 'round now, clasp each other's
legs and hands, be shrewd!"
Put our Queen in the middle of the masses
and we'll rise with the tide.
We've made a perfect float,
and should survive these raging waters,
until we can get outside."

"We're going higher and higher, soon we'll be up
to the top, and can live on dry ground!~
We can stay alive until the waters recede.
Instruct the larger ones,
the soldiers to take the lead."
A tiny colony of ants eventually
anchor on grass or bushes.
These marvelous tiny dot-like creatures,
know how to survive without coaches.

Each tiny individual ant is endowed
knowing just what to do!
Intelligence personfied, and what a great
credit goes to their Creator,
and wonderful research for you!

If every poem written had a plot to research,
You'd learn about critters on our mother earth
Less of us would take the land and besmirch
And leave each other in a barren land lurch

This poet deserves our very best thanks
This poet wrote not about war and of tanks,
Rather, the poet gave us a more lofty thought
Something our children ought to be taught
