She walks the streets of deep despair, her breath, the softest hush
Cobblestones beneath her feet, naked as they stroll
Through alley ways of shadows, and the remnants of her soul

All about she searches, yet knows not what she seeks
For anything she ever held, was never hers for keeps
Still somehow she fumbles, falling through her days
But never does she ever forget, the one who couldn't stay

One winters night, near on dawn, before the waking of the sun
The dream she found, the life she had, came tragically undone
Sleeping in the arms of love, the man who held her heart
She awoke to find that in the night, his breathing did depart

Crying out for mercy, pleading all for goodness' sake
Grant to me this nightmare, but now allow my mind to wake
Nothing but the sorrow,an emptiness inside
She left the bed,the home they shared, her everything had died

Now every night near on dawn, before the morning light appears
She walks cobbled streets of shadows, hopes of death held near
For nothing could now matter, her only reason to ever breathe
Has left this earth without her,a tattered soul now grieves

She's at a loss for comfort, because the guilt has eaten through
This woman loved him more than life, but her heart he never knew
She took each kiss for granted, every meal they had shared
And now she wishes hopelessly, for a chance to show she cared

Upon the winds in winter, you can hear the fainted cries
Of a soul lost in the carnage of memories gone by
Listen to the weeping,to hear is not enough
Then say a prayer, give thanks to all,the many ones you love

For we never know our chosen time, its just not in our hands
But to love and appreciate all you have, can be a part of your daily plan
So take this moment, close your eyes, upon your world impart
All the appreciation for the ones who bless your very heart

Ah my dear friend,
how wonderful to once again read your heartfelt words...from your soul.
Yes, I know the feeling well, and when it happens....you are so shocked....you can't even tell nor speak to anyone about the love you have lost! Most exasperating, hopelessness, I've never felt since, and hope I never have too again.
Sad, Sharon, as your heart heals....but hope ful too...my dear....you are still shining through!
lovingtitters loves you....you're going to be just fine.
ConSue

Oh my god hon... This brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad I made the time today to be able to get on. Better to cry at home than at work. You are simply a breathtaking writer. By the way I swear you are getting even better...
