sometimes i forget to live
i forget to take a breath
sometimes when im walking fast
i forget to take a step

sometimes when im lying here i
forget to close my eyes
sometimes when i think of you
i forget you really died

but in all the darkest hours
when i dont now what to do
i think of things i cant forget
and i always think of you [comments] => 1 [counter] => 177 [topic] => 39 [informant] => tortureddarkness [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 2 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

beautiful. My grandma was the only person in my life that actually took care of me until I was 13 and moved to my dads. My mom was an alcoholic and her boyfriend was very abusive. I lived with them, my younger sister, and 2 younger brothers, whom I would take care of while they got drunk and went to bars. It started when I was about 7 my siblings ages 2months - 6 yrs. Sometimes I'd be alone with them for days at a time all of us eating baby cereal ( the only thing in the house) before they came back home, but most of the time that was better than having them there. I had to grow up pretty fast. When nana found out they were gone she'd come and get us and we'd also go see her on the weekends. She took care of me and I didn't have to take care of anyone. I could be a kid when I was with her and I felt safe. I'm 22 now and sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night I feel panicked ( when I was young I'd often wake up to find myself alone in the middle of the night) or when someone I love was there when I fell asleep and left before I woke up even during the day I feel abandoned, but all I have to do is think about my nana and the feeling passes. I'm sorry about your mother. But she will always live in your memories.
