Her walking nice and free,
It happens when you tell yourself that
"She's the one for me."
You know exactly what she's thinking
Every time of day,
Your heart was her possession
And she just threw it away.
But knowing that you can't act
'cause there is so much at stake,
You wonder if it's better,
To simply bear the ache.
You feel like breaking down
Every time you hear her voice,
You simply cry those nights away
Because you have no choice.
Every day is spent trying
Not to let your feelings show.
Every night you spend crying,
Just tryin' to let her go.

And eventually you will let go. It will take time, but it will happen, especially when feelings for someone else takes the place of hers.

Lovely write.

Hey Addie, I know how you feel. I fell in love with my best friend too and things looked like they would work out with us for awhile. Well, she chose to be with someone else and I chose to leave, so I lost the love of my life and my best friend. Honestly, I think it's better to leave. It's not fair to put yourself through the constant pain of seeing them every day and not being able to be with them. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but it's only been a few weeks for me and trying to let her go is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I'm hoping with time I'll be alright and I hope you will too. She's not making it any easier, because she doesn't understand why I have to let go. You need to do what your heart tells you, but my advise would be to try to let her go, or you will never give yourself the chance to find happiness for yourself.

Your poem is excellent, very heartfelt and well written, thanks for sharing.

I'll leave you with two quotes I once saw:

"The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them."

"Your heart already knows what your mind is thinking… trust your heart."

Best of luck to you, keep writing.

Curtis
