On the corner of the table
There burns a single candle
The flickering orange flame
Illuminates a silhouette
Every night he sits alone
In near darkness and thought-laced silence
Gradually slipping further away
Writing words that will never be read
Page by page and through the weeks
Words of what he endlessly seeks
One more glass of this bitter wine
Before he writes his final line
A story told on paper
Emotions shown, ink runs with tears
Heart emptied and mind devoid
There is still one work left to be complete
Misanthropy grows
Sorrowed anger becomes consuming
Love and sentiment are strewn about
One last piece to be written in red
Never knew her, never met her
Every evening he'd write her a letter
Sealed away with nowhere to deliver
If more than a dream the love he'd give her
Ripped and torn the pages fall to the ground
No one's left to mutter a sound
Can anybody piece together the puzzle on the floor
So at least one person will know why he exists no more

I am in awe. I believe this is one of my top ten favorites by you. ( I am aware that I say that every time I comment, I can't help it!) The ending the last two lines, oh my---they ripped my heart out. -Incrediby sad-
"Can anybody piece together the puzzle on the floor
So at least one person will know why he exists no more"
You are so talented. This was another remarkable poem.
