waves, and the cross of burdens cannot break,
answers only my own soul can define,
the power within, thy spirit is whole,
no longer do I ask the question of finding true love,
I have seen love and witnessed the great beginning,
I wipe no tears from my eyes,
I am vigilant to shifting time,
I have received the answer thru my own reflection,
my power is a force of endless hope,
the soles of my shoes have traveled the many miles,
thy ocean holds one ship,
I have boarded,
a vigilante' barely grasps the anchor while being lifted,
she is dragged thru the cold running waters,
this vessel is not hers to stand upon,
she is lost in a world of her own,
sharks swim near,
she cannot see with her eyes,
she has shut the door to her own heart,
and turned siblings into enemies,
I stand in solitude on the platform while she reaches,
have the years made her wise,
not likely, the tie has become frail,
she has lost touch with her own internal spirit,
she kneels looking for an answer, searching for words of comfort,
she wants me to reach for her and pull her in,
but I have since past those yesteryears,
turning back would only destroy the true spirit,
"have you no longing" her wails are heard,
passing thru clouds of dust grey,
on the dock I hear others, "she cannot come"
her learning is not over,
I turn and look away, suddenly hearing the rope break,
she is to swim the ocean on her own,
back to shore, where she kneels once again,
distance has been hers to hold,
I have found peace within my own soul,
yet she wishes I would cry and fall back in her agonized trap,
she will be left behind, until her soul is truely filled,
and her heart is ointed with oils,
until then, I will watch the scenes being played,
empty love being passed, the sour tongue, looking for sugar,
pointing fingers and becoming the goose without an egg,
until then she cannot break me,
I have become a whole being without her,
my spirit content, my soul unbreakable,
on the dock in which I stand,
I am wrapped with only unconditional love,
spared ..... for my time is thru,
I have entered, thy ship,
between the time zone,
I have found my own destiny!

Val, It seems you have divided yourself from yourself. Something I find I have to do many times each day as I get older. I have been learning to dump the past and not to dwell upon it.

Why is it always the sad bits that come to mind?

Yes, as you say "I have found peace within my own soul" yet memories would take it away if I let them

Surprising how close ones mind can come to another. A very analytical poem well written but harsh.

Val, I'm going to have to read this several more times. Somehow I can't grasp the imagery. I've always been like this (useless at crosswords, hopeless at reading instructions, it's a mental thing).

If it's enigmatic, trancendental, I just can't grasp it and yet I can appreciate the intricate pictiures.
