The blade slicing each picture in two
Tears well at the corners of my eyes
Good memories are far and few

Thrown without care in the back of a drawer
Keepsakes of days I'll never relive
Emotions kept forever as simple mementos
All I have left in this world to give

From my heart and through my wrists
Onto your hands
Flows my sentiment

As I depart my words insist
Of my hatred
You're the embodiment

Desperately seeking what I need most
Do I deserve it or am I insane
It's getting darker every night
The lights are off at memory lane

Amity a vague concept
Drowning in a pool of falsehood
As I reminisce over my tangible memories
Wasting away and hoping for something good

From my heart and through my wrists
Onto your hands
Flows my sentiment

As I depart my words insist
Of my hatred
You're the embodiment

Flipping through the pages of my life story
Unwritten the last chapter remains
Wanting to be the picture in the locket
Loved or not I'll die the same [comments] => 6 [counter] => 503 [topic] => 32 [informant] => Vitreous_Soul [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 31 [ratings] => 7 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

You definately have a talent for bringing the reader into the poem, and experiencing the emotions first hand.
Excellent write.

Well, color me impressed. If not one of your best, then certainly up there. I can almost hear the music it's sung to . . . .

Adored the imagery. These vivid pictures will be running around my head for quite some time, I expect.

Beautiful.

This one just breaks my heart. So filled with sadness but it calls to me. The ending regarding the locket was the clincher. I think i'll read it yet again. Kie
