Look at yourself with an empty stare
A single tear distorts the mirror image
Walking down the final stairs

Come step up to the wishing well
And shatter this funhouse nightmare again
Search yourself, the greatest desires
Breath deeply then throw your penny in

Reflecting over a reflection
Analyzing an analysis
Poisoning an infection

Shattering liquid glass
Rethinking decisions
Wish the future was the past

Come gaze into the eyes of days gone
And drink in hope it's the waters of Lethe
Emotions bounce off the living looking glass
Ten fold increasing the disarray

Come step up to the water's edge
Throw in a coin and wish for things fond
Look at your face, look deep and long
Then well up with anguish, you're scum in this pond

Reflecting over a reflection
Analyzing an analysis
Poisoning an infection

Shattering liquid glass
Rethinking decisions
Wish the future was the past

Want to go back to the way you were
Wishing to have what you used to have
Want to go back to who you were
Praying to be what you used to be

Heads you're ahead, but tails never fails
Flip it then toss it, watch it splash
Bow your head and pray for this
As the abyss stares back and laughs

Come see your face upon the crystal waters
Look at yourself with an empty stare
A single tear distorts the mirror image
Walking down the final stairs

Come step up to the water's edge
Throw in a coin and wish for things fond
Look at your face, look deep and long
Then well up with anguish, you're scum in this pond

The ending came with a BANG! Like trying to follow a movie not seeing the ending coming. Excellent write V.S. As I was reading it reminded me of the times I have cried with my head on the piano and when I raised my head I saw the tears marring the wood. Several times I drew circles in my own tears. Kie
