and found a spot against the dunes.
This was the night our love felt so real,
and our hearts played the same tune.

I felt so comfortable, so secure,
with my arms around you that night.
With you and I together,
life finally seemed just right.

We sat and gazed at the ocean,
beneath the summers sky.
It would have been so dark,
if not for the sunsets in your eyes.

We spoke of our future together.
You told me secrets of your past.
I remember thinking quietly,
I wish, forever, this night could last.

You asked me what I was thinking,
when a smile on my face appeared.
I said for the first time ever,
the rest of my life, I no longer feared.

I remember you sitting in front of me,
I pulled your beautiful hair to one side.
I gently ran kisses down your neck,
what feeling did you have inside?

You asked me if it was true,
when I said with you I’ll run away.
By the look in my eyes you knew it was.
I still would, even today.

I can’t explain how I felt.
More complete than ever before.
For that one night when you were mine,
I’ve never dreamed for more.

We spoke of dreams and goals,
as you conveyed your love to me.
Without a single star in the sky,
my wish sat right beside me.

As the breeze began to get cooler,
I pulled you towards my chest.
Put my arms around you to keep you warm,
in this happiness we could rest.

I wish I could live that night once more.
Even knowing it wouldn’t last.
For on that night all my dreams came true.
But how quickly our moment passed.
