Array ( [sid] => 26143 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Non Est Tanti [time] => 2003-10-31 08:56:29 [hometext] => I wrote this poem for a freind of my parents whose newly born had just died. [bodytext] => The fragile beauty of nature’s dawn
Poets last words to which nobody mourns
The delicate fragrance of a single rose
Captured and imprisoned in a cage of glass

A startled thrush flies the moors from its startled perch
They who stand tall, awaiting suns new light
Innocence to truth like the crime that bequeaths
Thorns for every rose, blood cometh beauty preserves

To all that bow low to the sickle and crown
Like men to men, only the sky remains
Someday that too, dead
Know now all that we love, for today is now

Lies that rule in the hearts of all
Death comes too easy, without wanton need
Earth that passes beneath our feet
The day does end but the thought remains

My heart and prayers go out to your friends. This weakens my heart and brings a tear.A candle will be lit for the tiny one.
Beautifully written

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
