They're stuck upstairs
storming about
waiting for their day.

The words don't care
they have all the clout
they can go or stay.

They don't play fair
they ride a different route
those words they do betray.

The words leave you bare
they breed your doubt
leave you feeling grey.

The words don't share
just leave you to pout
with nerves so very frayed.

The words are there
they don't come out
they've lost their clever way. I have been speechless many times, Jaymee....simply because it seemed better to be that way. Other times I should have been silent, and they snuck out anyway!
I really enjoyed this poem, Jaymee because you referred to "words" as if they were alive, and that shows great creativity, don't you wish they really were, and we could sit them down and tell them a thing or two!
love you,
ConSue

I wish I had more times like this. I liked the write. I have the problem of not being able to stop the words at times though. I hope you find your words when you need them though.
