Something I just can’t quite forget
The weather is cold, approaching December
Heart, brain, mind and soul, singing a dissonant quartet

An image flashes before my eyes
Just brief enough, I cannot percieve
It haunts me in the back of my mind
In it’s innocence I cannot believe

My nightmares are based around it
But by morning I have forgotten
Fear of something has been ingrained
By this near-memory was begotten.

I think I may lose my mind
I can’t remember what every night makes me scream
The same image I’ve seen a thousand times
But it’s like part of an almost-remembered dream.

A shiver of fear and sweat forms
If I try to think back to this nightmare
All I remember, darkness and cold
An evil figure, cold eyes, a chilling stare

God why can’t I remember
Why I can’t sleep at night?
All I can see is the glowing ember
When looking at a bonfire of fright.

I haven’t slept in four days
God I wish I knew why
What is that thing
That haunts me in my dreams
That scares me out of sleeping for nights?

Maybe I’ll never know what it is
Or what it wants with me
But know that when I die
To take me to hell, it’s waiting. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 226 [topic] => 25 [informant] => blackfire9786 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

I would want to know if I where you but then again maybe not. We all have our own monsters. Some of us with nightmares some without. Actually I take it back if they are anything like mine then you don't want to know. Just enjoy life and the people that are in it.
