A voice so soft and sweet,
Whispers for your help,
But it’s filled with deceit.
The help you try to bring,
Is used to kill your soul,
There is no hope for her,
She can never feel whole.
But still you try and try,
A challenge you must accept,
You must heal her scars,
And be there as she wept.
This girl needs so much,
But refuses to help herself,
She only takes from others,
Like a greedy little elf.
She makes herself insane,
And will do the same to you,
So I warn you stay away,
There isn’t much you can do.
I lived my life for her,
She was my only concern,
But her pain never ceased,
And I refuse to return.
She now treats me like sh!t,
But I’ll never complain.
I no longer care about myself,
Only want to end her pain.
I wish she would let me help,
So she wouldn’t want to die,
But everything she’s told me,
Has always been a lie.

Wow... a lot of this really reminded me of myself... probably not something I should be proud of, LOL. Yes, people need to learn how to help themselves before they can expect other people to help them. But, sometimes it's just not that easy. Good write and best wishes,

~ Moonlit

None can carry the wieght of the world on their shoulders. I liked the poem as we all need help but only the best of us can give help or are even able to. Don't beat yourself up over it I used to. For some there is no salvation until everything is taken from them and then they will turn towards themselves or give up completely. The choice is theirs and there sadly is nothing you can do about it. Good luck though.
