Array ( [sid] => 25742 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Shubh Diwali! [time] => 2003-10-25 12:54:57 [hometext] => This poem is dedicated to my dear sir, hence my attempts to use Hindi. Who knows, maybe someday I'll know Hindi well enough to write an entire poem with it;) If you don't know Hindi, feel free to ask for translations. [bodytext] => Shubh Diwali and many more!
Longing for you makes my heart sore.
To watch exploding stars and kiss
In the dark of night would be bliss.

So many colours, vibrant and gay,
Flashing lights to lead eyes astray,
While we sneak off to some far place
As if with time we have to race!

Fluttering in the dark of night
Is my saari colouréd bright
Enchanting you like incense smoke
Or flowing forest fairy cloak.

My hair is flowing in the breeze,
Long waves of gold that love to tease
And fuel the passion in your chest
This night by far will be the best.

I find myself in your embrace,
Beads of sweat grace your handsome face
Your strong sweet lips soon caress mine
And hands explore each curvy line.

Alas my mornings are your nights,
Can’t see the festival of lights
Can’t run with you through Delhi streets
Nor kiss ‘til last cracker depletes.

Jaane kya hoga maula re!
I just can’t wait for that great day,
To kiss you a sweet shubh ratri
Passionately on Diwali. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 204 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Jessica_Saini [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Very nicely written. I enjoyed your use of colors mid poem. I did have a laugh when I read your intentions of running in the streets of Delhi. Last time I was there people made that dream impossible. All in all a wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very lovely write. My native language is Urdu which is quite similar to Hindi so had no any such problems in reading...you have written beautifully. Good job!
