what lies behind the eyes
is not determined by genes
(or by personality)
The god-like order
of my thoughts
have yet to define
the answers
I am certain only
that we would be
astonished by the answers

Forgiveness is not easily given
(or taken)
I understand
you cannot forget
(I myself have not)
Time may heal the wounds
diminish the guilt

Only you
my child
can speak the words
Only you
can remove the dagger
from my heart
If not now….
then soon
before they trickle to the cold ground
with your tears

I grew up a Daddies girl...When I was in the 10th grade, I ran away from home...just a lost teen looking for something. My father took it very hard. He didn't speak to me for years. I thought I had lost my dad forever. However, my younger sister died years later. And with that, I got my father back in my life. It took a tragedy...doesn't seem right. So much time between he and I was lost before that. I make sure now to see him whenever I possibly can. And our relationship has only gotten stronger....Sure hope whatever is going on here with you and yours works out for the best....
