WITH FATHER IN THE SUNLIGHT!

Contributed by robert_edgar_Burns on Tuesday, 21st October 2003 @ 04:15:21 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

What a beautiful, warm, clear and bright sunny day it was to sit out and gather up some rays. A nice cool breeze across the skin kept the beads of sweat from becoming larger than micro dots. There were no clouds for the sun to play peek-a-boo with or hide-and-go seek.

I began to imagine just what our lives would be like without that majestic ball of light peering down on us every day. Of course, there would be no life. That mass of burning Ions and gasses is a staggering 93 million miles away, yet it warms us, gives us energy and power, and without it nothing would grow to sustain any life. It encourages us when it rises in the morning after an especially dark or perilous period of time. It expands our line of vision thousands of times so we might see the world around us. It is by all means the single most important object at the center of our universe. Its power is beyond our comprehension. Yet, it is very puny!!!

Oh, not by mankind's standards is it puny. But by the only thing it could possibly be compared to. And that thing would be its creator. The real Son. The King Of Kings and Lord Of Lords. The Almighty. The Creator! The Son Of God. The Lamb Of God. The Great and Powerful Judge. The Great I Am. The Alpha and Omega. The Prince Of Peace. The Light Of The World. The Word Of God. The Savior. Yes, compared with the One who has all these names and more, that ball of light in the sky, though marvelous, is indeed a puny thing.

Then I wondered, while trying to recount all of Gods names, which of these names would actually be the most important title of all, to an even punier thing than the sun. Me! For each of His names conjures up feelings of awe and worship and praise. And He has a few names that should and do cause a feeling of fear to a sinful heart.

Which of us could walk into the courtyard of a king without fear and trembling, unescorted, and approach the throne and the one who sits there, without first being challenged many times along the way? And then subsequently be welcomed with smiles, open arms, kisses and embraces every single time without fail, no matter what condition we find ourselves in? Only a child of that King could be so bold. Then that settles it for me. Gods greatest name to me, is FATHER!

Just as His light is the light that proceeds out of the Sun and filters its way to each of us below, it is the Light of Gods Son, our Father, that warms our hearts with the feeling of safety we can always count on when we appear before His throne. This light came to me through my earthily father, who received it from his father, and his fathers father. It passes on from generation to generation. I passed it on to my children who will pass it on to my grandchildren. And just as the Sons light led them onward and upward to their heavenly homes, they have paved the way by their examples that what lies ahead is not to be feared, but an exciting journey that will reunite us with our true Son, our Father.

This is such an amazing work of art! I absolutely love it! I'd like to ask you a question if I may. See, I go to a Christian high school, so we have devotions every day in the mornings. Could I bring this in for my teacher to read? I mean, you don't have to let me, it's just such an awesome writing. I'd love to share it, if you would. Think about it and write me back.....

Best wishes,
Jellybellyprincess

*****There were no clouds for the sun to play peek-a-boo with or hide-and-go seek.

Smiling.

*****The real Son.

***** that ball of light in the sky, though marvelous, is indeed a puny thing.

But I don't want to believe it, I know, its all science, but just like my Moon, its smaller than the earth, yet, God made it, so for me, it is great.. The sun is too.. there is no argument here, I just know that I see our Lord in all things, He created.

Wonderful write, God bless you, Robert...I am glad I found you, you are a magnificent writer. Trust me, I am not going against your write, I just have my own deep insight. Let me die with it, thank you.
