Suicide

Another sleepless night has found
A happy home in my head
And as the needle splits the flesh
My thoughts begin to spread
Hallucinations bearing astounding sights
I slip further into the abyss
Flow through my veins and surge with power
Yet something hints that it's amiss
It draws me more into the dark
As the waters I slowly tread
Then it strikes home and splits my skull
As it severs my silver thread

OD'ing is not a good thing, it is painful and leads you down a very emotional trail. You think you are killing the pain by OD'ing when in reality, you are actually creating more. You portrayed the feelings and emotions involved in an OD very well. A great poem. Very personal to me. |
