Array ( [sid] => 25436 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Rose for Sarah Elizabeth [time] => 2003-10-20 23:17:12 [hometext] => This poem was written to my best friend, and saving grace, Sarah Elizabeth. Thank you for everything... [bodytext] => I don’t think I can explain this very well
But something you always do pushes me to excel
And when I speak to you, the affliction goes away
Though we’ve had our struggles, we always made it through
We’ve never been torn apart, and that’s thanks to you
Outside my window, there’s a rose amongst the thorns

When I asked about me, you said you’d never doubt
You’re the one who showed me what my life’s about
And I’m not sure how to thank you
I’m ok as soon as I see your smiling face
Beneath the Lord, you’re my saving grace
Through time, the rose remains untouched, unworn

You saved me from that crying clown
You dared to make my world come crashing down
You pushed his sorry character away
You would drop everything just to assist
Those opportunities, you just can’t resist
The rose blossoms, and it holds its form

And when heartache comes on and my heart starts to race
There’s no need to worry, I got both of my saving grace
The Lord and Sarah Elizabeth

Whether a pauper all alone
Or a queen resting on her throne
No matter what I do
I’ll turn to you
I’ll run to you
I’ll seek comfort in you
In you

And when the Northern winds began to take summer away
I walked outside my window, where all the thorns lay
I reached in and searched through
Finding a perfect rose and giving it to you

“She’ll make it through,” you said,
You laughed and shook your head
“Though you’re used to the pain,
You will make it through the rain.” [comments] => 3 [counter] => 174 [topic] => 16 [informant] => Schnikes13 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

That's such a nice poem! It reminds me of all the people I cherish, and why I do.

And, the girl I love just happens to be named Sarah Elizabeth, so all the more reason to like this poem!

Truly,
-V.S.
