Crossing the ruins, scarred memories mixed in with remains
Begging both Satan, and God for even the slightest fall of rain
Wanting to feel the winds of change blow, my voice in a silent refrain

I still remember looking out on battlefields of my youth
Searching for a real love, struggling to figure out the truth
I remember the day; I stabbed my sword in the ground and walked away
I had decided that alone is where I should stand forever and always

I still remember when you came into my life
Turning, my world inside and out, easing my strife
The glow of the flames, fading into memories
To the locks on I placed on my doors, it seemed like you had all the keys

I still remember how quickly for you I fell
Even though of my feelings I wouldn’t tell
Scared to death, you would tell me to go to hell
But that didn’t stop talking to you, from ringing bells

Yes I was with another at the time
But still I wanted to make you mine
I wanted to drop everything and run to you
For something told you love was 100% true

I still remember, you sent wave files dropping hints of how you felt
But I didn’t realize the messages I was getting dealt
And immediately as my relationship came to an end
I thought more about you, “My Angelic Friend”

I still remember as the chamber on my poetic gun spun around
That I got surprise that picked me up off the ground
I got an email from you saying “This poems for you”
After reading “Behind My Angel Glow” as tears fell I knew

I still remember how it felt to know you loved me too
