Once again I am reminded
Father it's you and me
I am again forsaken
To face lonliness and futility

She stayed for a while
With an honest curiosity
She found me kind and refreshing
And still she could not see

I walk with you
My God and my friend
Along this road of faith
And will until the end

She just couldn’t see you
Not even in my gentlest touch
Oh how I wish she had
I needed her so much !

But you warned me
This road is only wide enough for two
And few there be that see it
Only those you reveal it to

She did not perceive my passion
The intensity of the flame
That burns within my heart
At the mention of your name

Hold me a little closer Jesus
Forgive these tears that fall like rain
Forgive my stumbling Father
I am blinded in my pain

Watch over and protect her
Guide her to this faithful road we trod
And let us meet again one day
In the arms of God

Russ
