With flickering images of all those
Trapped within, and unheeded through the fires
Of darkness, where we, from years ago
Had witnessed the rise and numerous great,
The crated candle burns on far into the
Blackened night, ebbing, through the tides
For the passing of the moment where
We had thought to change the world
Yet never to be forgotten.

The strike of the silver dagger pierced the sky,
Edging into my thought, from amidst the endless blue,
The sanctity that I once adored lay forgotten in the past,
Glares in my eyes forever changed, into the distant
Views of the future, flashed across my mind,
As I looked within the present world, into
Sights of the forgotten history, no longer are
We so glorified as ancient mysteries.

The lashing winds howling through the ancient
Past, the wetted dust of the futures mast,
Finally subside from its weeping rage,
To display the golden splendor once laid
Hidden in the shrouds, reached down
To the palm of my hand, yet the
Strength once displayed, weakened by those
That lay forgotten amidst the heart of the Earth.

Great poem. It has an almost Celtic feel. I always feel grieved when I think back on those who died, and what it did to the rest of us. Tore us apart, yet brought us together. Keep up the good work
