her body left for dead
like tears of pain, her thighs were spattered
from where her opening bled

her rope burnt throat sings a swan song of
A Minor, left to hang
cut short, like imaginary suicide Notes
that are better whispered than sang

left to be found by a hunter
or a child whose lost his way
rocked to eternal sleep by the ropes gentle sway
her broken body courting decay

the bugs will have their feasts there
buzzards and taller wildlife too
though a short rope was strung
for the pale throat to be wrung
her pretty toes still dangle low
begging to be chewed

her glassy eyes stare downward
from her once pretty, now, bloated face
all painful memories gone
as fattened maggots take their place

no more dreaming of a husband and children
no better life waiting, 'round the bend
no soccer mom or stepford wife
for "john doe" stalked into her life
and his desperate eyes assured her
this was the end

Nothing Left to do but sway
succumbing to the bitter kiss of decay
return to dust so that the winds of fate
can thoughtlessly blow her away [comments] => 6 [counter] => 307 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Cancer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Whoah you have a way with words...this was creepy and very very sad. But an excellent write thoroughly.

Heart wrenching and creepy, yet so beautifully written. You do have a way with words as Em said. Not quite sure what to say about this. It was great, yet very creepy *looks over her shoulder* at least I have my dog here, makes me feel a little better hehe

Exposing a dark aspect of the world, I see. Your words bleed through as always. Excellent work.

eek I shouldn't read your poems before i go to bed. Loved the imagery in this very disturbing especially the part about the child who lost his way.
