The sky was a deep purplish hue
Tinged with a dash of blue, a melancholic blue
The creeping sorrow it imbues
A touch of atmosphere so subdued
The clouds hung low
Like my spirits, weighing me down so
The air was heavy as though
Saturated with sadness that has yet to flow
Autumn winds blew from the west
Stirring the fallen leaves as birds flew from their nests
Then the light drizzle, the dampness
That seeps, causing shivers
Let it rain on me
Let the torrents wash over me
Wash away the pain, that dull ache, and set me free
Through the mists of tears, I could see
The sky was still blue
Oh, such a melancholic blue
