[hometext] => Life may be a bowl of cherries - but are they sweet or sour ?
[bodytext] => Last night, upon my pillow, I found a velvet box, bound in scarlet ribbon, secured by gilded locks. At once I recognised the box, as the one I gave my wife, on the day that we were married - at the start of our new life. It was to be the box in which our hopes and dreams were stored. And now it sat upon the bed, faded and ignored. I longed to see the treasures its faded velvet hid. Unlocked it with the keys of love and gently raised the lid. It was full of joy and happiness, love and bitter tears, and all the precious memories gathered through the years. I was filled with joy and wonder, and love I could not hide. I took the box to show my wife and begged her look inside. She looked at me and said with scorn “I’ve better things to do, than waste my time and energy on that silly box for you! It is the foolishness of youth, with no relevance today, a stupid, smelly, empty box, that should be thrown away!” Her words were cruel daggers, Thrust deep into my heart And at that very moment my whole world fell apart. And now I live my life alone ( I always did it seems ) And all the velvet box contains is the dust of shattered dreams.
