Innocent death

She moved here with her baby.
Not even one just then.
She moved into a neighborhood,
She didn't feel quite safe in.
She met a couple of people,
She thought she knew them well.
She let them move into her house.
And sent one of them to jail.
This person left her stranded.
No groceries.
No car.
She kept trying to tell him,
Not to do it,
Not to push her that far.
One of his boys got a little mad.
Told her she was lucky that his buddy liked her bad.
But because she sent his friend to jail,
Her life and that of her baby's was to end up not so well.
Now she has to hide fearing for her life.
Not knowing if she'll live to see her daughter be a wife.
Everyone is scared and we all hold our breath.
Because no one should fall prey to an innocent death.

it isn't fair that so many people have to live in fear because others think they can control peoples lives and hurt them in such a way that you describe here... great write you expressed it all so well.
