Array ( [sid] => 24106 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Mountain [time] => 2003-09-30 02:05:00 [hometext] => [bodytext] => She's not the one, your father had said,
There’s others out there to feather your bed
She has no place deep in your heart.
There’s no love for you , when you’re apart.
Do you listen to dad, or what’s deep within?
You search your soul. A prayer in sent.
It’s one of those times, You’ve a mountain to face.
You’re still so young, with life to embrace.
Wherever you look or how long you stare
Always know that mountain is there.
It may be pretty and covered with trees
It may be Autumn, with beautiful leaves.
It may be barren where mighty rocks stand,
But look to the mountain, and understand.
It’ll ever be there, for you to climb
And it’s summit you know you must find.
Whether it’s soft, or covered with sand,
It must be conquered ,to become a man.
The engine roared, the traffic a mess.
You swerve in and out, your life is at test.
A little blue sign, A brilliant white H.
A neon red cross, heralds the gate.
The women in white, the doctors in green,
Your love’s in their hands, their trust you must lean.
You fret through the night, you pace the floor.
your eyes filled with worry, Know not the score.
You look to the skies, the horizon’s right there.
There’s a mountain to face, you need to beware.
Your Autumn has passed, your father’s long gone.
She’s still by your side, guess he was wrong.
She stands by your bed, as you did long ago.
Her head is bowed as she prays for your soul.
There’s tears in your eyes. You didn’t want it this way.
You look to the sky, you say, “Please, one more day.”
The horizon’s right there, your last mountain stands clear.
With the press of her hand, you know the summit is near.
Wherever you look or how long you stare
Always know, that mountain is there.
It may be pretty and covered with trees
It may be Autumn, with beautiful leaves.
It may be barren where mighty rocks stand
But look to the mountain, and understand.
It’ll ever be there, for you to climb
And it’s summit you know you must find.
Whether it’s soft, or covered with sand,
It must be conquered ,to become a man.
