Walking along side the ocean,
Towards the last days of July.
It amazes me how quickly,
This summer passed us bye.

Looking out my kitchen window,
On a cool September morn,
The sky has a shade of gray,
As frost is about to be born.

Racking up the leaves,
On a brisk October day.
A chill is in the air,
I wish the sun would stay.

Putting pumpkin pies in the oven,
On a cold November night,
First snow is coming down,
It’s such a beautiful sight.

Placing gifts under the tree,
It’s almost Christmas night.
Went outside to look for Santa,
On my nose the winds did bite.

Getting ready for a New Years party,
Last minute we decide to stay home.
The snow is really mounting,
We’ll make our wishes on the phone.

Placing wood on the fire,
On the couch snuggled up tight,
We dream of warm weather,
As we finally call it a night. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 258 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Jeff_Scott_Morehead [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Winter Cometh

Walking along side the ocean,
Towards the last days of July.
It amazes me how quickly,
This summer passed us bye.

Looking out my kitchen window,
On a cool September morn,
The sky has a shade of gray,
As frost is about to be born.

Racking up the leaves,
On a brisk October day.
A chill is in the air,
I wish the sun would stay.

Putting pumpkin pies in the oven,
On a cold November night,
First snow is coming down,
It’s such a beautiful sight.

Placing gifts under the tree,
It’s almost Christmas night.
Went outside to look for Santa,
On my nose the winds did bite.

Getting ready for a New Years party,
Last minute we decide to stay home.
The snow is really mounting,
We’ll make our wishes on the phone.

Placing wood on the fire,
On the couch snuggled up tight,
We dream of warm weather,
As we finally call it a night.
