Listen To The Sound

Contributed by chrissylee on Saturday, 17th August 2002 @ 08:44:04 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

He listens to the sound of the falling rain,
Its echoing out her name,
He left her oh so long ago,
As time and time again he recalls,
Just where love came undone.

He knows he should have listened to her words,
All she ever wanted was his love,
But he just chose to ignore,
Everything that was going on.

She turned to him one sunny spring filled day,
Said she was going out for a walk,
He asked her just how long she would be,
And the words ring home once again.

I dunno just how long I'll be,
Or if I'll ever be back again,
You see you've tread on my heart just to easily,
That is where our love is going wrong.

Maybe baby you should take a look around,
Find out just what's going on,
I've been here for you for all these years,
And yet I still don't hear the words,
I long to hear.

You tell me that you care,
That I am your best friend,
That simply isn't what I need to hear,
I need to hear you love me true,
So now I will simply disappear.

As his thoughts and memories go back in time,
He sees a shadow appear outside,
It's the girl he loved from long ago,
The one he should have told he loved.

Is it just a dream again,
Or is that really her outside,
He runs out in the pouring rain,
She is soaking wet.

She says to him well have you anything to say,
He wraps her in his arms and says,
yes I really do love you,
I want you in my life again.

So when you hear the sound of falling rain,
Think of the one you love so true,
I'm sure you will agree,
The sound of rain brings back great memories.
