Where are you from?
Why are you so fat?
You aren't the right color.
What kind of name is that?
Prejudice struts around,
smugly wearing it's opinion,
as if it's the only style,
or one size fits all.
Ignorance weighs it down,
making it lazy and slow,
as it labors to protect and preserve
the integrity of that deeply rooted stone wall.
It is a coward,
because patiently it will wait,
so that it can sneak up from behind
and attack with brutal force.
It's judgement has a hair trigger
because it hasn't the reason to understand.
It's mind is filled with information
from an "abuser friendly" source.

This is excellent Lynn ...I particularly like the second verse. You always write with such conviction.
Lots of love

Well as promised here I am and wishing I'd got here sooner.
I enjoyed this one (wish I'd written it myself)
I can see we are probably going to have some very interesting discussions.
I used to detest the sort of people who hid behined masks of "always saying the right thing, going with the right crowd, member of the "in group" in the right club etc. etc. Until I retired and they didn't matter anymore |
