are facing extinction.
Within the human race compassion
and respect for human life,
are slowly meeting with the same fate.
Even "the happiest place on earth"
has become "the greediest place on earth".
There are many who walk around
with the temperament, as sensitive
as the hair trigger of a gun.
This state of mindlessness makes
it easier to take the life of another,
than to recognize their right to disagree.
Screams of anger and pain,
rise to a pitch decibels above
full blown rage.
They cannot be heard over the voices
of those in power and the influence
they carry.
I do not share in the belief
that after death, a beautiful white light
will guide you to another life.
I do believe in that flash of light
that will blind even those,
living with their eyes closed
and that will leave us with winter
being the only season to survive.

Reading a poem with no comment
it's making a sidewalk without cement,
You tell it like it really is
Who will listen, they're all too biz

Very well expressed. Coincidemtal that I wrote in similar vein replying to your messages yesterday.

It's a free site and that's the beauity of it. You can write what and how you like (within reason). Your writing is eloquent and educated but is ,in this instance, what we were taught at school (1930-1942) ''free verse". For my taste "poetry'' has to rhyme,
but I accept that ..........who am I to judge.

I haven't kept my promise to go back over your list (problems with, the car, the house, the cat, homophone writing, my model railway, YPDC messages, etc etc but give me time I'll get there)

I very much like and agree with your ''Random Thoughts'' they need to be shouted from the rooftops. Things are changing. Many are dedicated to turning our civilisation in a better direction. It's a pity the very basis of our motives, our religious codes,
are used by evil minds to set one against the other

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
