The road is long, the road is dark and lonely,
Each day I wake to find I'm deeper in,
The darkness grows as it's harder for me to see,

I'm on this one way highway to hell,
On the downward trail of depression,
I only want to hide away in my shell,
Why am i here there's nothing to learn, no stupid lesson.

You can't see the light at the end of this tunnel,
Don't know when it all will end,
Why am I still alive, why is life so cruel,
When will the pain stop, when will my wounds mend,

But this time I've fallen deeper,
Deeper, deeper into the dark abyss,
As the road to happiness gets steeper,
Death will be my only peace and bliss.

My releif is called Zoloft given 2 me by prescirption from Dr.
I do know how depression can cloud ones life. Many times it's 'cause from a chemical inbalence in ones brain. If the Dr. gets u on the right meds u want beleive the releif!
Hang in there!
I know what it feels like 2 almost welcome death but with meds my mind clears to cope with life on a daily basis.
Very good writing as one feels like their in hell
while depression zaps joy in life!
Thank God, I never acted on my emotions 2 take my own life!
PEACE, JOY, LUV,
emy

FOR GOD so loved the world (you) that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever (you) believeth in him shall have eternal life....my friend i know how it feels to be depressed and i know how it feels when you feel all alone....but thats when you need to seek god more...see he likes playing hiding go seek....he says : will you come look for me..if you do you will find me....will you only look for me when your in trouble...or all the time..i do so want a relationship with you...turn on some church music...turn on tbn.i rather turn this all on and get some good feelings where your at...the bible says the devil cant stay where there is god's preaching....maybe you dont care for the lord...i dont know...but i do remember that when im in a bad way i dont what to do and sometimes i feel god is the last....but....but....in the valleys we grow and he is there helping us thru....on the moutains and when we can look back and see that he did get us thru.......love you..god loves you....

Often it is when we hit rock bottom,a hand reaches out to grab us when we least expect it. Depression lingers within everyone and we all grab for that one little tiny ray of light.Be it meds from a dr.,be it God,or be it from a friend who listens and understands. I pray you try all 3 before ever giving into the dark, because the light at the end of the tunnel is so much more rewarding.
I will listen,my friend. 0:-)
angel always..godspeeed...joni
p.s. Graphic and heartwrenching write.
Keep on writing. :-)

Your comparison of depression to a one way highway to hell is on the mark. This was very well written and well thought out.
