In all our everyday lives
Egotists believe their dreams should come true
They have such powerful drives

They are so full of self-importance
And so full of self-belief
They think their thoughts are naturally
There to bring relief

They have no doubt at all
No doubt, so easy, just do as I say
Simple solutions to complex problems
Why? Because I see it that way!

And when it all goes horribly wrong
Do they stand up and say, “I goofed”?
No, they simply say the plan was great
It was the EXECUTION that floofed

Heaven preserve us from these men
And their egos the size of moons
For it's others who die and are maimed
By the action of these goons

They sit happily safe and sound
Back in their comfy chair
If it goes wrong they simply groan
I was RIGHT! Why should I care?

Now we see Bush playing this game
It doesn’t PAY to be WRONG
Just keeps saying “I was RIGHT!”
It’s an age-old litany this song

It’s the typical political tune
We’ve heard it oh, so many times
But eventually they do trip and fall
And there’s an end to all their rhymes

But hear the echo as they go down
In a last pathetic fight
He’s still shouting as he falls
“I’m RIGHT. I’m RIGHT! I’m RIGHT!!!” [comments] => 2 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 41 [informant] => Steeleyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => political )
