[bodytext] => I am a part of the great U.S. A country that has made a mess They lied to us they lied for the war But in the end what was it for? A city gone, thousands dead “It’s no great loss,” the president said “The less the better, we’ve won the war It’s what we were all fighting for.” But, I have not seen the mess, The people running in distress. The pain and suffering of a nation, The piles of rubble the devastation. Nothing living, nothing breathing, The millions left to do the grieving. A blinding flash, a mushroom cloud, The shockwave rush that was so loud. The awful fires that then broke out, Open mouths but there’s no shout. The poisoning then by radiation, A plague of death, by mans creation. For crimes committed a price was paid, But on our conscience now it’s laid. That now we’ve killed in freedom’s name, We now all have to share the blame. I am a part of the great U.S. A country that has made a mess.
