Take an ice cube let's not wrangle,
Form a pup-tent ice triangle.

Place pup-tent on the ruler's edge,
Thumb 'press'and make it act a wedge.
If 'press' left side, it should go right
A very long rule, 'pinch' out of sight.

See if you can understand
If you do it will be grand
You can sail when sun has set
A moonlight sail and not get wet.

The keel's the rule, the 'press' the wind,
The 'cat' is 'pinched', the tiller, pinned,
The overall act, the 'cat' moves ahead,
90 degrees, the 'cat' is dead.

Think of a circle on a clock,
The wind blows from 12 onto the dock.
90 degrees the 'cat CAN'T sail
From 10:30 to 1:30. it will fail.

Stop and think what you've just read
Let it sink deeply in your head.
If you can see, you're out of sight
To the great beyond, the northern light,

What I've written is all quite true,
To sail a 'cat' is up to you,
To sail into this stark adventure
Would surely have your mama's censure.

I must stop here 'cause I'm not sure,
If what you read, you feel secure,

Place a ruler on a table,

Take an ice cube let's not wrangle,

Dear Norm....what a splendid write.
I'm scared to death of water in the nght.
But I wouldn't be afraid to go with you.
Anyone that can guide a cat with an icecube
What about that? That's quite a feat there Norm....What wonderful form!
I loved your poem, I'll bet that required quite a "brain storm! Norm

Iv never done a sail on the open ocean
Iv had boats but they all had motors on them
they made real well and very fast across
the open lakes and picked a spot for a line to cast.
Sailing sounds like great fun but I think Id have to
let you lead the run .

To sail after sunset sound quite keen
But I don't know if I could manuver that machine
You make it sound like so much fun
To sail away when the day is done

I am not afraid of sea..but I never sailed except in my mind..If I were to sail I must remember these lines..
"Let it sink deeply in your head.
If you can see, you're out of sight
To the great beyond, the northern light"....
