[bodytext] => THE SEEDS OF THE END (Peter Sprenkeler)
The tragedy of war - I’ll continue to lament, We all stand in legions - our protests sent. But yet it goes on - as lives are spent, In droves they die - nations are rent. Truth lies in the ashes - hatred now law, The worst of human emotion has come to the fore. Decency lies bleeding from every pore, Compassion and tolerance - both dead on the floor. Bloodied and battered - integrity now gone, As our soils drink blood as we hopelessly look on. Conscience too has now vanished from: The corpse strewn fields in the Valley Of Anon. Misery and pain on a massive scale, Horror and destruction - an endless tale. No one is spared, not the young not the frail, As the forces of evil relentlessly assail. Inevitable? You ask, I suppose it may be so, Could it all end - the world in a nuclear glow? Food for thought - as the seeds of the end we sow, Just as well God forgives - as off to Him we go.
