Full of selfishness and greed
Everyone with all their needs
I've come to hate the person I am
But they all made me this way
So what else can I say?

We're all so jaded and vain
And I'm suffocating
The pain is all that remains
I'm asphyxiating

I hope this gets better at the end
And I'm not so full of hate
But are we all too late?
I hope someone still cares about love
What a family should be
And not turn their back or flee

We've all reached the last thin straw
Everything is broken
And too damn frozen to thaw
It all goes unspoken

It's too late to turn back now
And we've all lost so much
But nobody cares somehow
Everyone wants a crutch

It's so sad because it's such a waste
This world is going to hell
Were you there when we all fell?
I don't think we'll ever get back up
The good things are hard to find
Forever two hearts entwined

So I'll always run to you
'Cause nothing else matters
The one thing that remains true
We will never shatter

We'll go to a better place
Our love is more than this
It will be our saving grace
We alone will reach bliss [comments] => 4 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 21 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Heh. I was going to write a similiar poem on this theme but you've saved me the trouble. It's not really the world, it's what's in it that's rotten.
