Array ( [sid] => 23326 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Pride [time] => 2003-09-16 22:05:00 [hometext] => this is about how female lions rule their turf - by banding together against the king of the jungle.
_______________________________ [bodytext] => Their luxurious coats drape across each other
Tending their young on the sunlit savannah
Tawny eyes see everything
The breeze ruffles the long grasses
As the lion approaches them
His matted mane and scared face define
He has fought to be their king
But they own this patch of earth
Hard won by their sufferings, not his
The supremacy of his rule
Will only strengthen their resolve
Make strong their female alliance
They hunt together in deadly grace
Then watch him eat his fill
Before they take their nourishment
Pride of sisters
Ingenious
Powerful
Beautiful
Rich in legend and mythology
They know the power of the pride
They bear their king no homage
He snarls at his disreputable state
Forced to service so many mates
Until a younger stronger male appears
On distant horizon to challenge him
Coveting him his throne and pride
And they watch with tawny eyes
